What does a certificate contain?
The digital certificate contains the following information:
- Fist name and middle name of the Subscriber,
- e-mail address of the Subscriber,
- Name of the Subscriber's company,
- SIREN No. of the Subscriber's entity,
- City,
- Country,
- Type of certificate (authentication and key encryption certificate
or signature certificate),
- Type of use: "nominal" or "backup".
The certificate acts as a digital identifier. It is meant for:
- Authenticating the issuer of the message received with certainty,
- Ensuring that the content of the exchange is confidential and not accessible to third parties and thus protecting the electronic mail against any external modification (Integrity),
- Validating the committment that has been undertaken (it will not be possible to renounce it: non renouncement).

How long is a certificate valid for?
A certificate is valid for two years from when it was obtained and is renewable automatically.
On what media is
the certificate issued?
The certificate is generated by you on a microprocessor card provided
by SG Trust Services.
By using a certificate on a microprocessor card,
what additional equipment must be used?
In addition to the microprocessor card, a connection kit is required: the Subscriber must have a card reader and the corresponding installation CD ROM:
- Connection kit consisting of a secured CardMan 8630 card reader
(with a PinPad) from Omnikey and the interface software (driver)
from OberthurCS (may be provided by SG Trust Services) AND
- Microprocessor card (provided by SG Trust Services).
What is the cost
for the company?
Besides the equipment mentioned earlier, the certificate stored
on the microprocessor card requires a microprocessor card reader
and its installation CD ROM as well as a subscription to the certificate
that includes the microprocessor card (provided by SG Trust Services).
What are the prices for a certificate and the
connection kit?
The prices of the products proposed are listed in the Subscription Form that can be viewed on the SG Trust Services website (www.sgtrustservices.com) and in the Société Générale branch offices.
Are there several price bands?
There are different price bands: prices are based on a sliding scale taking into account the number of certificates issued.
For more information, we suggest that you get in touch with your
advisor at your branch office.
Can several people use the same certificate?
No, one certificate is associated with one individual only. Only one Subscriber is associated with each certificate, identified at the time of signing the Individual Subscriber Request.
How many certificates need to be taken?
The number of certificates depends on the size and the organisation of your company. The certificate is attributed to an individual and therefore it is personal and can neither be lent nor exchanged. It is therefore advisable to plan for the company to have a number of them in case there is a technical problem or in case the usual Subscriber is absent. A company is advised to have at least three certificate Subscribers (which means three certificates).
